October 11, 2010: Sales Up 4.8 Percent So Far This Year The real estate market in the Evergreen/Conifer/Pine area continues to show strength. While closed sales for September were down a bit from August, sales for the first nine months of 2010 are up 4.8 percent from the same time last year. Furthermore, while prices continue to go down in many real estate markets, our prices are up 4.9 percent from September 2008.
Much has been written about the foreclosure market, especially recently with many banks having to declare a moratorium on foreclosures because of sloppy paperwork. In Evergreen only 18 percent of our market is foreclosures, down from 20 percent in 2009. So far there have been 2,971 foreclosures this year in Jefferson County, which is down 4 percent from this time last year.
