September 11, 2010: Foreclosures In Colorado So far this year there have been 2,706 foreclosure notices issued in Jefferson County, which is down 3% from the same time last year. On the other hand, there have been 72 foreclosure notices issued in Clear Creek County, which is up 167% from the same time last year. Overall in Colorado the number of foreclosure notices issued is down 11% from the same time last year. The county in Colorado that saw this biggest increase in foreclosure notices was Eagle County, which is up 325% from the same time last year; which suggests that the second home market, especially in resort areas, is suffering quite a bit more than the rest of the state.
Of the foreclosures in Jefferson County so far this year, 1,478 have gone to auction, of which 87% were bought back by the lending bank. In Clear Creek County only 56 foreclosures have gone to auction so far this year.
